Wild For You!

I know it's been a while since I made a card but just have not had the desire or as I see everyone say "The Mojo"  It took everything I had to start this card but once I did start it everything came together easily.  So I went through all my challenges and picked 2 Sketches 4 You #54 Sketch Layout.  I had already picked the three stamps I wanted to use so the sketch worked out just perfect for what I had in mind. All three stamps are from Stampabilities.  The purple girl is Girl Alien, Mr Orange is Happy Alien and the Green Machine is called Blue Alien. Pile It On #21 is challenging us to Eat Our Veggies.  I colored each alien the color of some great veggies... Eggplant - Carrots - Peas.  Love all three.

Wild For You

I don’t normally make the inside of my cards just so that I can use it depending on the occasion but I had the perfect embellis for this one and went with it.

I have to introduce you to our new baby at home.  Can you believe someone just let this little guy run around loose with nothing to say were he came from and in an area that has main streets, lots of traffic and pretty close to a freeway.  I believed he had no chance if I left him so I took him home.  I found him at my work.  He came up to our front door and was crying to be let in.  Poor thing!  Well believe me he is living like a king now.  Please meet ROCKY!

These are his new brother – Tyson and sister Gypsy.  They all get along great.

Ice Cream, we all scream, for Ice Cream!

I have been thinking about these little bowls of ice cream for some time.  As I surf my blogs I see all sorts of different variations that others have done so I can't say I followed just one persons idea.  I took from everyone and put my own twist on the whole thing.  I used CPS #168 sketch to make my card.  I only used three squares I hope it will be ok.   I also used two other challenges for the color theme.  Colour Create #45 - Soft green and Aqua and Color Throwdown #93     The flower embelis are from The Paper Studio.

Here's what I've been up to

Usually I post a card at the very least everyother day or so but as you see it has been a couple of days.  I know everyone must have been worried about me and what happened.  I can tell how worried you all were... LOL.  Well no worries  take that big sigh...  I am back and now I'll show you what I have been doing for the last 4 days.  I am pretty proud of it all and stupid, stupid, stupid me  I do not have any before pics.  Just believe me it was a disaster and very small.  I know.. I probably am getting a D- in blogging.

Well I have been redoing my work space and made a new craft table/area.  What do you think?  First I only have one requirement!  YOU MUST NOT ZOOM IN -  cuz I don't want you to see all the dust!  HAHAHA    No really .. I'm not kidding!
I am sure you're all familiar with the white cubes they sell at the chain craft stores. I already had the 4 you see right here that is holding up this part of the desk. If you see on the far left at the end a rounded corner piece.   Well that is what started it all.  I was at the Big "M" and saw the piece on clearance for $3.99.  Yea.. that's what I thought.. are you kidding!  It is originally $29.99.  They had 6 of them.. I bought all of them and called my girlfriend, told her my find and we were on our way.  The shelf  was on my old desk and I made it with a shelf piece and legs from Ikea.  Neither go with each other but it gave me extra space.  Can you see the peg board.  I have two pieces on the wall on the left and one piece under the desk on the left side.  All three came in one box and it came with some of the pegs.  It was one of the best things ever I invested in to hold my embelis.  All the packages are so organized that way.
The desk tops are obviously two pieces.  One is 6 ft long and the other is around 4'.  I bought them in the "as is" section at Ikea for 7.99 & 4.99.  I know.. what a deal.  They work perfect.  Now on the other side of my room my BFF's gram-ma passed a few months back and she received a bunch of furniture from her home.  One of the pieces was a dresser with a hutch on the top.  I almost dropped when she asked me if I would like it.   AHHHH YES!   First I was honored that she trusted me with her gramma's furniture.  Second it is soooo perfect.  The dresser (which is not in the picture) has 3 drawers.  The top one is not that deep but fits my small to mid size punches.  It is very large in width and length.  Then it has two very large, very deep drawers that hold my dies and all the extras.

The hutch part is soo perfect to hold my paper, some stamps, and LOOK at my ribbon holder.  Also part of the boxes bought at the Big "M".  With my 40% off coupons each one was just about $12.99.  There are 28 different ribbons just on the bottom pole.  Can it get any better.  Well worth the investment.  Those black boxes were bought from Ikea all 4 for something like 5 bucks.

Well, there you have it.  That is where I've been and what I've been up to.

p.s.  yes that is my wall in my bedroom and I did paint it that way on purpose, I did the same with my white ceiling fan.. hahahaha.

Heard you had a bad day.

I didn't make the three card quota I was striving for yesterday but did finish it today.  As soon as I saw this stamp I knew exactly who I wanted to make a card for and what I wanted to do with it.  My daughter is having a bit of a rough time with being a first time teacher.  I guess these kids are a bit tough on her at times and hard to handle (on the upside she does call with some great stories of what is very typical of 1st graders) so I wanted to cheer her up.  This stamp is one I bought from Addicted and it's from Unity Stamp called Frazzled.   I went for the sketch at Tuesday Morning Sketches #45Stacey's Stamping Stage - Curtain Call #30 had the perfect colors for what I had planned for the card.

I stamped her twice and colored her with my Prisma pencils.  I cut her hair and socks out and popped them up.  I had a "screw head" brad for one eye and a little button for the other.  I should have tied some thread though it but oops.. too late.  The DP is from a Halloween pack by Recollections.  There are such great images on these papers.

The rest of the challenges below are just bonus on a very special card for a very special person.  My daughter.

Other Challenges:
Cute Card Thursday #112 - Someone Special
Fab N Funky #23 - Metal
Hand Full of Stamps #28 - Get your Shine On
The Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge #83 - Metal

Honey of a day

This is my second card today.  I am being productive today. I can probably slip one more in today I guess we'll see.  That would be a record for me.  I used my new SU set called Just Buzzin By.  Still practicing with my copics.  I think I'm getting better little by little.  I have realized I am much better at this with a large area to color than small intricate areas.  Don't you just love the bee brads.  How cute are they???.  I used the sketch from Peachy Keen Challenge #28
I also used Stamping 411 Color Challenge #123 as my color inspiration.  I really love the color combos they come up with.   Take a look - you know you can come up with something great with these colors.   I've listed the other challenges below that I'll enter this card into.  You know I love my challenges.  So EVERYONE HAVE A HONEY OF A DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Challenges:
YNS Challenge #16 - Cut it out and pop it up
Prairie Fairy Fridays #19 - Flowers
Catch the Bug - Flower Power

Summer is here!

Well summer has arrived here in Arizona.  The river is open for tubing and it is in the 80 - 90's this weekend.  I know there are so many areas that are still thawing out, still have horrible rain and floods, and don't even go there about the tornado region but here that is why everyone moves to Arizona cuz of the weather oh and golf... lol.  We really have no mother nature disasters here. One of the biggest summer celebrations is the 4th of July!  I know it's a bit early but that's what we gear up for.  Everyone has a pool out here and the 4th of July is HUGE.  Everyone has a big party.  I created one of my first 4th of July invitations.

Cheers to you - Thanks

This weekend I received 5 new stamps in the mail.  I order alot from Addicted to Rubber Stamps.  I think they have some great deals and there are quite a few different companies to choose from.  This particular one is from Penny Black - Cheers!  Please come back to see the others.  Cards will be coming.  I got 2 other Penny Black stamps, a great Hero Arts and the most adorable Unity.  I used CPS-166 Sketch.  Since I colored her with my Copics, Black-100, Blue B24 and Pink RV19 I used the colors given on the Copic Colour Challenge #64.  Here is what they have this week.
A Spoon Full of Sugar Challenge #103 has a great recipe challenge going on to use 3 DP and 3 Buttons.  All the DP is from a little 4x6 pack I picked up at Joanne.  It's called Cafe Mediterranean.  It's got some beautiful designs in it. The buttons put a perfect touch for the empty space.  Tied some floss in a bow for the middle one to give it a little extra bing!  Creative Belli Challenge #91 wants us this week to use our hole punch.  I thought what a perfect way to outline my arrow.  I've had these star brads forever.  So long I have no idea where I exactly got them but I think they worked just perfect.   Cup Cake Craft Challenge #90 wanted us to use Buttons this week so I got that covered and Little Red Wagon #28 wants us to use Brads.  Done! hehehe....Have I ever told you all how much I love challenges.  It just gives me ideas that I know I normally just could not think of all by myself.  I really think sometimes that I must have been dropped on my head as a child.  It just doesn't work like it used to .. LOL.

Anyway so here it is.  I really like how this one turned out.

Get Rid Of That Bug

As soon as I got done with this card it made me laugh.  One because it is so silly and the other it really came together darn well.  First I started with the sketch from Diva Coffee Break Design Challenge Sketch.    The top of the sketch reminded me of clouds.  That made me pull out my SU set called Under the Stars.  I knew I wanted to do something with the bear and his mosquito spray.  I needed some earth tone colors so I went with the ColurQ Challenge #31

I was going to put a ribbon on it but I wanted to make this card a boy.  The critters and scene has an outdoors theme which goes with two challenges:  Cards for Men Challenge #10  &  Crafty Calendar Challenge #8.  I made it a scene for the TSG54 Challenge.   I might as well push the envelope and also add it to Pile It On Challenge #18 - Cute N Cuddly.   Mr. Bear's smile does creep me out a little but if I had mosquitoes that big after me I might look the same.   I did flock his tummy to give him some sweetness.   I thought of the saying as soon as I stepped back and looked at the card and printed it on the computer.  Cut the strip with Fiskars decorative scissors.

So what do you think?  Pretty silly huh?

Here is a close up of the top half.  I popped the clouds up to give demension.

Here is the close up of the lower half.  You get a better view of his tummy and flocking.  You know were the flocking came from?  It was a $1.00 find at Michaels.  The pack had 4 little tubs of different shads of brown.  I bought all the different packs they had.  As you can see I put a little glitter on the wings just to spruce it up.

Nephew's Birthday Card

My Nephew is turning 6 and I've made this card for next weekends birthday party.  I used Caardvarks Challenge Sketch.  They had two to pick from and I went with this:

I then used Color Dare Challenge colors as my inspiration.  They were just perfect for a boys card.

The digi is from Pixie Dust, it was a freebie that was given away a while ago.  It is perfect for him.  Let him be King For The Day.

Both punches are from Martha Stewart and I created the sentiment in Word with word art and then printed it on the Bazzill paper.  He was colored with copics.  Gotta keep practicing.

Just Buzzin By...

I've had this Penny Black stamp called Beehave for a while now.  I just haven't found the right situation until now to use it.  I used The Pixie Cottage Challenge #16 sketch and The Color Dare CD64 color challenge.

There were a few challenges that the theme was spring or summer and nothing reminds me more of summer coming up than just laying out in the sun and soaking it all in.  Now in Arizona you don't want to do it for very long when summer is here or you will die of a heat stroke or end up as red as a strawberry and hurting for sometime.   I'm going to save this card for just  the right occasion to send someone a very special note.

The back ground paper is from American Crafts - BookShelf.  I think it's called TruleyInspring.  The other DP is from a small pack called Flower Shower Spring Matstack.  The ribbon is felt and I found it in the dollar bin at the big "M" craft store.  The saying "just buzzin by to say...." is from my Stampin Up set called Just Buzzin By.  So app-pa-pro.. huh.

The other challenges:
 Whimsical Wednesday -Spring

Sweet Stampin Challenge #24 - it's summer
The Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge #81  - Friendship

DD New Home - Congrats!

My daughter just moved into her new home this weekend.  She did not buy this home she is renting but it is her first real home since moving to Seattle.  It has three bedroom, kitchen & living room.  She had been living in a studio apartment before.  I am so proud of her.  Things are going so well for her.  I used I {heart} 2Stamp #37 sketch and TCP Tuesday #107 color challenge as my inspiration on her card.

Who's Birthday?

I bought a new stamp at Michael's on Friday and just couldn't wait to use it.  Owls are big right now and I am jumping on that bus also.  They are so cute together.  I decided to use CPS #164 Sketch Challenge.  I turned it and put the ribbon on the bottom and added a flower instead of the bow.

Then I went to Color Throwdown #90 challenge.  This weeks colors are a great combo and I love them together.

I stamped & embossed a party hat on the Bazzill purple paper to make my own background paper.  The image I stamped is from Hampton Arts - Party Owls. I hope you can see that I cut their arms out and popped them up to give them dimension.  I also had just bought some brown flock.  Martha Stewart makes great flock so I decided to put a little on the top owl.  Like he has hair on his chest.. lol
