Another new stamp.

I just picked up this new Hero stamp called Row of Houses.  I decided to use Sketch Saturday Week #113 Sketch.  It was pretty simple but perfect for the row of houses.  Stamping 411 had a great color combo #133 this week.  Look at these colors.  The really are great together.

Hope everyone had a great Saturday.

One Huge Cupcake!

Yes I'm still alive.  I know you were wondering were the heck did Big Mamma go?  There have been some crazy stuff going on at my work and I just have not had time to do anything .. not even make a card.  I am back now and hopefully I can get back into to the swing of things.  I've been really missing my cards.  It's my de-stressor.  My first card back is my favorite thing.  A giant Cup Cake.  It;'s the SU cupcake stamp called "Simple Birthday Thanks"  The first time I ever saw this in the catalog I knew I had to have it.  When it came I had no idea how big it was.  I guess I better read the fine print .. lol   I decided to paper piece the cup and the cake of it.  Then I glittered the cherry up with some Very Red glitter and put some sparkle pearls on as the cupcake confetti.  I didn't put any sentiment on the front yet.  It might be used as a birthday card or just a card to let someone know how "Sweet" they are to me.

I'm going to enter this one in Charisma Cardz challenge #29 - anything but square.

Just a quick post to show you what I made last night.  The stamp is from the dollar bin at "Mikes".  Again such a cheap little stamp but WOW what you can do with it.  So much fun.

I used the sketch from Skipping Stones Design Challenge #32
and the colors from Stamping 411 Color Challenge #131.  They are so rich and perfect colors to combine.

Life is a bowl of cherries.

I made this card for no special reason or not for any person.  Just wanted to use the stamp that I have had for a while and never used.  Now that I'm done with the card I have decided to send it to my friend that got sick.  As my last post showed you the card I was going to send to her but now I really like this one so much better.  It is much cleaner, crisp, and cuter.

Caught a Bug??

Here is a card I made for a very good friend that put a scare in all of us.  She, somehow, came down with Meningitis.  She is back on the mend but I wanted to put a little smile on her face.

I used a Bugaboo Digi Image, colored it with a combo of Copic and Prismas.   I used the sketch from Mojo Monday Challenge #146.   Every week they have the greatest sketches to challenge us.  I can't wait to see the next one.  Pile it on Challenge #26 asked us to use our favorite things.  What part of this card isn't my favorite.  From the digi, coloring it in and adding dimensions to it, to the great DP.  That side strip of orange and vanilla is one of my favorite papers I have.  It came from a pack from DCWV - Citrus Pack,  the whole pack has wonderful raised glittery paper.   So where did I get the great color combo (Orange / Red / Brwn)  were else but There She Goes Clear Stamps Challenge #62

Well I hope she likes it.. now off to find a stamp.  (The kind you lick and stick.)  LOL..haha

I hope everyone has the most wonderful 4th of July ever.  Just remember what it took and is taking to keep us THE LAND OF THE FREE!

I am very proud of this card.  It came into my head as soon as I found this stamp in the clearance bin at Mikes. The stamp is by Stampendous called Star Sparklers.  I stamped it on the red plain paper and then stamped it again on some DP paper.  Embossed the star images and cut out the stars.  Once cut out I popped them up on their sister image. I will tell you a secret.  You see where the blue with the red star is.  Well under that was not a star as part of the stamped image it is something like a sparkler design. What I did was try to use glitter glue to outline it and put some glittery flash on my card.  Holly Crap, I messed it up bad! I obviously have not mastered or even come close to the art of glitter.   It was horrible.  I wanted to cry.  It was like the last thing I was doing on the card.  It was all put together and pretty much done.  I couldn't start over.  I started thinking... think Mary... think.  What can I do.  DING... DING.....DING..  I remembered I have some foam stars.  So I saved my card.  I know as bloggers we look at other cards and go "WOW HOW AWESOME!"  but as the maker we are going "WHEW, IF ONLY THEY KNEW HOW BAD I MESSED THAT UP"   Hahaha.. so now you  know my secret of how bad this card really was at one point.
I think this is one of the few times that I created a card with my own design idea.  Not using anyone's sketch.  Sometimes I surprise myself.

Livin the Sweet Life

I just got this new Jar Stamp.  I LOVE IT!  I know you will be seeing a lot of this stamp cuz I know I'll be using it all the time.  I also had ordered from PTI the jar die cut and lid cut outs.  So the fringe on my jars are from PTI Die cut.  I used The Greeting Farm Friday Fun Sketch and the colors from A Crafty Little Place Challenge #45
I would loved to have entered my card into The Greeting Farm challenge but darn if I can figure out how to up load to their gallery.  If anyone can point me in the right direction I would love to be able to show off there also.  I registered and everything but .. well maybe it's one of those things like "if it was a snake it would have bit me".

Oh well I got to get started on my 4th Of July cards. I only have a few hours.. LOL.. but that's the way I roll.  The only thing I've ever been early on is my birth!..
