Punched Ornaments

I think this is my very last Christmas card this year.  Given this year is almost over.. I can't believe how this year has flown by.

I stopped Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge and thought their sketch this week would be perfect to show off my new Christmas SU stamp set and coordinating punch.

I'm pretty proud of this card because I did have help with the layout of the card but as for the colors I figured that out all by myself and picked them out to coordinate together.  Usually I take color schemes from other challenges but not this time.  I don't think I have that good of an imagination normally but for some reason this card came together very easy and very quickly.

Love snowflakes

I have to show you a card I found on my blog hunting - it's from a site called Jelly Bean Soup, Bean Talk.    Isn't it adorable?  I just love the colors and the embellishments.

So I took the color scheme from the ColourQ this weeks challenge #116.
 and created this:

Not as great as the original but I like it.

HOPE PEACE LOVE

I can't believe the big jolly guy comes at the end of this week..   eeeekkkk!!!!!

How about another Christmas challenge card.   Over at the Shabby Tea Room Challenge Week #93 they had a great photo challenge.    From the photo you needed to use Kraft, Silver, Red, Newsprint & a Star.

So I went to work and this is what I came up with.

Probably one of my favorite cards this year.

One thing about this card.. It said to use newsprint.  You have no idea how much paper I have.  I could probably open a store myself but not one piece of anything that resembled newsprint.  Sounds like an excuse to go back to the store to stock up on more paper!   LOL
So I just pulled out the newspaper and used that.  Way to upcycle!

A Winter Christmas Tree

Wow I can't believe 1 week and Santa will be here.   Can you believe I am still making Christmas cards.  Mostly because I love to make them and next I love my challenges but I also have a bunch that really don't need to be mailed, just handed out.  So I can keep stamping away .. at least for another couple of days.

Here is the latest:

The stamp is from Hero Arts and the sketch idea came from

I decided to go with these colors from Embelish Magazine - Mixed Patterns Color Trends Challenge.

Aren't they so rich and bold!  I thought how was that going to work for a Christmas card but I think they worked just fine.

I wish you could see the glitter and stickler I put on the tree to accent like snow but the picture didn't turn out very well.  But it's there.. there is snow on those branches..

I hope everyone is "wrapping" up the loose ends of their Holiday Season!!

Another Challenge Card

Hey everyone.. I hope all your stockings are up, all the presents are wrapped and you are sitting back and just taking it all in.  Not me.  Stockings are not up.. presents are not wrapped and I am for sure not sitting back anywhere.

I was able to squeeze in another Christmas card and of course I am adding it to a few challenges.  First I had to use this weeks sketch from Pals Paper Arts - PPA124.  Take a look at this sketch.. Tell me you couldn't make a adorable card with such a sweet and simple sketch.

On to my colors.. Visited my ole stand-by The ColourQ Challenge #15.  I'm tellin you if you need some GREAT colors as inspiration, get over to The ColourQ.  Every week they have the best palet.   I know I wanted bright and cherry colors for my card so these ended up being so perfect.

I don't know if I am happy with this card or just ok with it.  First off there are 4 separate stamps and I put them all together to make a little scene.  I think that turned out just fine.  Tried to give some depth to it and made the sign seem to be in the back ground.  I think I accomplished that.  Santa ... well I flocked his beard and mustache, not that bad..  I think it was the puffy paint for this outfit and hat that I am not that crazy about.

One thing I do love is my new Fiskar boarder punch I just got, of the snowflakes.  Isn't so great?

I think I will enter this into two other challenges this week.

More Than Favors - Wacky Wednesday Challenge #61 Christmas Theme
The Cuttlebug Spot challenge this week - Santa Baby

I better start wrapping gifts.  Maybe around March I will be able to sit back and enjoy.. LOL!

Santa - 25th

Have to show off a card I finished tonight.  I had the idea for some time.  I had gotten a Tim Holtz embossing folder that is a little bingo card.  I fell in love with it the moment I saw it and knew I could use it for soooo many different ideas.

On this card I wanted to somehow make the numbers on the card work for me.  In my stash I had these little metal numbered embelis.

Don't you just love the little cloths pin with the gingerbread man.  It matched up to the paper I got from OctoberAfternoon.com.  The paper is from the Very Merry collection.

How about that glitter job.  I die cut the SANTA letters and ran them though my Xyron sticker maker upside down and then dipped them into the red glitter.  I wish pictures would show glitter better than they do.

To round off my card and the gingerbread theme (which I didn't plan.. lol it just happened) I used my Fiskars ribbon punch, added some bling and layed it across some great gold ribbon.

With this card I followed The Sweet Stop SSS138 sketch

OH CHRISTMAS TREE.. OH CHRISTMAS TREE

A quick post to show off another challenge card.  Made this one for three different challenges.  The sketch of the card came from CARDPATTERNS sketch 145.  It is so cute this week and I love the border they have selected on the edge of the card.

I got the inspiration from SIMON SAYS stamp challenge - Photomontage.  It was so perfect because I knew I wanted to use the new tree stamp I recently got from Inkadinkado.
Here is the photo they posted for the inspiration.

Last but not least I am also adding this card to the MORE THAN FAVORS: WACKY WEDNESDAY challenge - Christmas cards.

I've gotta run... have to make a special little boy a very special birthday card.  I'll show you later.

Jolly Christmas

Two post in one day.. wow I have lost my mind.  LOL!  I have to make this one quick, everyone is "cryin" in the house and wants me to start decorating.  Ok.. OK

I used the sketch from this weeks challenge over at Our Creative Corner.  They wanted us to decorate it up to the hills.. so I did.  I bling blinged my reindeer out!

I have a file folder box sorted by color with all my scrap paper, so I always go to it for smaller pieces of paper when needed on a card.  That's exactly where I went for the red and green for this one.  I used my new Sizzix Poinsettia embossing folder - soooo adorable.  Then cut a little label with my PTI die for the sentiment.  The Cuttlebug Spot challenge gave me the great idea to use my left over items on this card with there challenge this week.

On to my color choice.. how could I pass up Celebrity Color Challenge,  the ultimate Christmas colors -
Cherry,  Artichoke, Vanilla

Now time to decorate.

Happy Holidays

Happy Monday everyone.  Only 20 more days left til the Jolly O'le big guy comes for his yearly visit.  How many are done with all the shopping?  I have just a few more items to get, mostly stocking stuffer items.

In the meantime I again was inspired by a few challenges on another Christmas card.  Color Throwdown #170 has some great colors to make a bright and cherry card.

Then I went to a great new challenge site Freshly Made Sketches.  This week the sketch, #13, was so perfect for a new set of dies I just got.  They are a set of 4 Christmas Balls from QuicKutz.  I knew I wanted to use them someway in a card and with this sketch it worked out perfect.

The last part of my card came from one of my favorite types of challenge.  A recipe of sorts.  CAS-ual Fridays Challenge had a tic-tac-toe challenge, which you had to pick three in a row and incorporate all three into your card.  I picked the top left square down.. Scallops - Green - Stripes.

 HAPPY HOLIDAYS

Stay tune.. I was very inspired this weekend so have another to show in shortly.
