Count down to Christmas

Happy Monday morning!  I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend.  Here in Arizona it has been raining off and on for the last 3 days.  That is great for us since we really don't get a lot of rain but man when it does rain here everything just stops.  The news stations acts like a world crisis is occurring and everything comes to a dead stop, well except shopping.  I work at a major craft store and we have never been busier.

Back to what I came here to show you.  My latest craft idea.  I created a sudo Advent calendar.  I think it's one of my favorite ideas I've come up with in forever.  Pretty proud of it.
So here is what I started with.  They were natural wood and I spray painted them red.
Here is how it ended up.  I die cut the ornaments and then used my old school sizzix -
Girls are Weird dies to die cut the 1 thru 25.
The ribbon says Santa is Coming.  I thought it was the perfect ribbon to use.

Do you see Santa here in this picture?  That is how you count down.  You move Santa along everyday until he gets to Christmas!  The 25th.

I have two more to make so I better get them done.

Thanksgiving Leaves

Happy Monday morning, or should I say afternoon!  I wanted to show off the card I'm going to enter into The Paper Players challenge #172
I went old school with this one regarding the leaves.  I pulled out an old Sizzix die - Fern.  Decided to emboss them with little dots (folder from Life Style Crafts) and put them on a page from Authentique - Thankful. Of course tied them all together in a pretty little bow.

See you tomorrow.

Hanukkah comes early this year.

It almost got away from me this year. I can't believe how early it comes this year.  The day before Thanksgiving.   I figured I better get my cards done today since it's my day off.

Here's what I came up with this year.  I only had three to make.
Pretty simple huh?  Sometimes the simplest things are all you need to get your point across.

Much more involved in this one.  I have had this Stampin Up set for a long time and never could figure out how to use it but I think this was just perfect.

Don't you just love that ribbon I found.  It is not easy to find and this one is funny.  It's all spelled wrong.

I haven't entered a challenge in forever so why not enter card #2 into Addicted to Stamps Challenge #71 - Anything Goes.

I do want to say I am disappointed that I just don't see any challenges for Hanukkah.  No good bloggers.

GOBBLE GOBBLE GOBBLE

As promised I want to show off my latest make.  I have seen wood blocks with saying on them all over blogging and facebook.  There are some really great one out there.  I knew I wanted to make my version of this fun hobby, so here it is.
As you can see I staggered the sizes and painted them "Appletini" green.  I always use Behr Ultra.  It is great paint and also has the primer in the paint so I don't have to worry about priming anything.  It's pretty darn thick and doesn't chip.

I found one of my favorite paper companies in my stach - Doodlebug.  They always have the cutes paper and Gobble just calls for cute and fun.  Modge Podge and distressed the paper onto the blocks.  Pulled out the cricut machine and printed the lettering.  Glued and more modge podge to seal the deal.

I posted them on to my facebook page and 4 groups I belong to and dang it sold with in minutes.  I only charged $10 well worth the deal.  I also recived orders for two more so I've got to get back to work.

Just wanted to stop and let the paint dry and show it off.

So Thankful!

Happy Veteran's Day and Thank You to all that have served & given their lives to make our country free.
Now I wanted to show off a Thanks Giving banner I made last year.  My girlfriend and I made them, she still is working on hers.  LOL

Of course I used my sizixx big shot and cut out using my rosette die.  The are so much fun to make.

Strung it up with some jute and displayed it right over in the middle of the living room.

No time to chat anymore, sorry.  Finishing up on my Thanksgiving project.

Christmas frames

So is everyone ready for the weekend.  That means two days of crafting and getting those last of your fall crafts out of the way.  I have one project on my table right now that I'm trying to get finished up.  It should be done by the end of this weekend and I hope to show it off next week to you.

For now I have a few Christmas Deco frames I made.  The first two are three little frames sets.

I love using scrabble tiles anyway I can.  So much fun.  These are very little frames, only 3.5 x 3.5, but so perfect for a table top decoration.

These are a little bit bigger..4.5 x 3.5. The lettering is really glittery, so are the little Christmas flowers.  I'm afraid you can't see the full effect in the picture.

This one's a normal 4x6 frame.  I figure you can leave it as is or put your own family picture in it.  Maybe that snow day with a crazy snowball fight.  Ha ha.. that would be fun.

Well, anyway all of these are available at my Etsy shop.  Stop by and check out all my frames.  They make great gifts.  https://www.etsy.com/shop/BigMammascraftin

So much fun and a lot of hard work.  Now it's time to get ready for Fall, Thanksgiving & Christmas projects.  To tell the truth I've already started.
