Happy New Years Eve

I want to wish everyone a Happy New Year!  2011 I know will be better for me than  2010.  That is always my goal every year.. to make it better than the last.  It doesn't always work but I always try to stay on the yellow brick road along the way.

I really am not into making New Year's cards.  For me they are part of my holiday cards, so I move right into Valentine cards and I have a few birthdays in January.  So here is my first Valentine.  Gotta get a jump on these things.. hmmm shouldn't I have started with the Jan. birthdays???   I am always back ass wards.. LOL

I used CPS- Card Sketches Challenge 2010 Readers Ideas Week of 12/26/2010 You were suppose to go and pick a sketch from last year #148 - #198 and create a card.  Let me just say if you are ever in a card making block and need some great sketches to to help you get started.. go to CPS and look through their past sketches.  They really have great ideas and you don't have to use it exactly - make it your own.  I picked sketch #164  and just had the ribbon go length wise.

The little scooter stamp was from the $1 bin at Mikes.  I just love going through that bin.  You never know what your going to find.  I added Pearls to the seat and on the inside to make it a little girly and also because Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge #98 asked us to.  Haha
Love me some Flourishes.

Both Colour Create Challenge #61 and The Play Date Cafe Challenge #62 asked us to use the color scheme of PINK - RED - WHITE - VANILLA .   The Play Date Cafe gave us this inspiration picture.  I know this is crazy but when I look at this picture it's obvious that it's about a wedding and to me when I hear wedding the first thing I think about is "Your Best Friend"   There are way to many divorces and I think that is because people don't find the most important quality in a mate.  Their best friend!  Maybe that is why I am not married.  I can't find that best friend.  So I will just make my Valentines Cards for my other Best Friends, those BFF Girlfriends that are always there for me.

Wow did I just say all that~!  Well that probably is better than paying the $150 a hour to lay on a couch and spill it.  Thanks everyone for letting me lay on your couch and spill.  LOL.

I better get started on those birthday cards now.

Granny's Thank you card

How is everyone doing after the holiday.  I think I am recovering finally.  The last of the meeting up with family happened yesterday.  My daughter left this morning back to Seattle.  I hope she can get in all right.  The weather has turned nasty and it is suppose to start snowing there.  It's raining here this morning and very cold.  Well again it's all relative on what your definition of cold is.  Anything from 75 or below is cold to me so right now I should be FREEZING!  lol  it's about only 50 deg outside right now.  Cold to us is probably just cool to most.  So now that everything has quieted down I can start making some Thank You note cards.

This is the first one of many and it's special.  It's for my daughter's Granny.  It's a small size just like 3.5 X 4 but I think just perfect to write a little note of thanks.

On of my favorite gift this year was a SU Stamp set called Sihouette Sentiments.  Just in time for I Did I Creations Challenge #35 - Out with the old  in with the New.

I used the sketch from CardPatterns Sketch #96

I used the coloration from Stamping 411 Color inspiration Challenge #146 and might as well add The City Crafter Challenge Week 37 - Stamp it out.  to my list of entries.

STAY WARM AND DRY TONIGHT

Santa :)

Well almost done with my cards.. I mailed the first batch yesterday and a local person got hers today.  That was sooo fast.. so I have hope that out of state cards will make it in time before Christmas.  The last two or three are right here in state so I know they will get theirs in time.

Had a great day, spent a couple of hours with my oldest  - she's here visiting and right now mostly hanging with her friends.  I will get my time with her after the holiday when all her friends have gone home or back to work.  Another great thing that happened today was one of the puppies got a new home.  A very nice guy bought it for his 6 year old son for Christmas.  I really don't believe in giving animals for a holiday present but he told me some background and I can just tell that the pup is going to a very good home that is a life long home.  That's all that matters.   I don't think I have shown you the last of the pups .. Here is the latest pic of the last three.  Don't they look like they are just so innocent but thinking .. "as soon as she isn't looking BOLT!"  HA HA.
 And the there were two!

Well here is my latest card.  Pretty darn simple.. Santa saying hello and Happy Holidays. Santa is a Hamptoin Art stamp called Santa Ready To Take Off.  I don't know if you can tell but his suit I flocked with Craft Lounge Sparkly Fluff.  This is the greatest stuff and comes in all sorts of colors.. Great colors.. go by their site and check out all the colors it come in.

Oh Christmas Tree...

That is one of my favorite carols to sing.  I use to know it in German but that was when I was young and could remember things... LOL!!!!

There is a secret about this card.  Guess what I used to make the tree?  Does anyone have a guess.. ????
I used paint swatches from our local hardware store.  Cute idea huh?  You know the kind that have like 5 different shades of the same color.  Well I just cut them in strips and punched with a scallop edge, then layered them and cut my tree.  I saw in a magazine somewhere a birdhouse made out of paint swatches as part of the advertisement.  That made the light bulb go on and I just had to experiment.  I think it turned out pretty good.  I know I didn't cut it very straight but hey what tree is perfect right!  Well that's my story and I'm stickin to it.  HaHa.   I then glued along the scallops and sprinkled Tinsle Glitter on - Does it look like snow?
Then put the topper on.  All trees have to have a beautiful topper .. right?

I am a little giddy tonight... maybe time to step away from the egg nog..   ( I crack my self up)

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend and just remember we are all very lucky for what we have.  There are way to many out there that do not have.

Bakin Up A Batch ....

 of Christmas wishes for you...
I found this stamp somewhere and can't remember where but thought it was just perfect for a special person that loves to cook.  So I used it on her card and I hope she likes it as much as I do.  Look at the little cookie cutters I found and had to add to this card.  It was the perfect touch to a bakin fool.  I used the sketch from Card Patterns Challenge #95.  This is another site that every week has great sketches and at my old age I need all the help I can get.  haha  Here is the sketch.  The cookie cutters came with the little red buttons in the same package, the little buttons I thought would work great for the holly berries.
Both the Prairie Fairy Fridays Challenge #42 & City Crafters Challenge #35 wanted us to use Kraft Cardstock and it just happened to work for this card.  Kraft stock is like the go to paper when nothing else works.  It is one of my favorites for a very favorite friend.  Totally Gorjuss Challenge #61 - For someone Special

Well the kids are on their way home from their Granny's house so better get my act together and get ready.

Seven cards down and I have no idea how many to go.. probably til I get burnt out but that's going to be a while.  I am having fun making these cards.  I had this stamp last year and really have fun with it.  Of course it's a Stampabilities creation and it's called Merry Christmas Sled.  I used The Sweet Stop Challenge Sketch #87.  You have to stop by and check out their sketches, I look forward to them every week.  Take a look.

Well I hope you like it and now on to the next one.  I'm almost done with it so come back real soon to see it.

Happy Holidays

Just a very quick post to show off my latest card and enter in some challenges.  Can't get much simpler than this one.  The Happy Holidays is a stamp and then I cut it out, colored it, and popped it up.  Cut the holly out of a die cut and chalked around it.. same with the inside.  The boarder on the inside is from a SU punch called Scallop Ribbon.  I borrowed if from my BFF, I think it is one of their brand new ones.  On to the next one!
Again with not able to turn the picture.  Why does Blog do this.  Maybe it's too big  I have no idea but that is not how it is saved.  The card is from Left to Right obviously.

Swizzle the night away

What a fun stamp I found in my stash.  I can't remember when I got it but it is a Inky Antics stamp.  I used the colors requests from Stacey's Stamping Stage Challenge Act #60.  Very nice subtle colors.
I added the blue snowflake in to give it a little pop and had it cut out of felt.  Then tied the snowflake button on to it.
I picked the stamp for two reasons.. one due to Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenges #97.  The challenge wanted us to have the theme of Food and Drink.  What is better than a cocktail and candy canes!.... HA HA HA..   Also One Stop Craft Challenge #110 said to get "Sassy" with the person on the card.  She sure has it right with her saying:
"Candy Canes Make Excellent Swizzle Sticks!"

One Elf.. Two Elf.. Three Elf More...

What a beautiful day compared to yesterday.  No rain, the sun is out and all my kids under one roof... (and it hasn't caved in yet).. lol.. hahaha.

Have another Christmas Card to share with you all.  Love this stamp set that I bought from SU - Holiday Line Up.  I used the color scheme from ColourQ Challenge #63.  Look at these colors... they are great together.

The Crafty Ho's Challenge for 12/12 - 12/18 also wanted us to use Red & Green  and Little Paper Shop Color Challenge #98 asked us to use about the same colors with Red / Lt Blue / Olive Green so all that worked into the card perfect. Then I went over to another one of my favorite challenge blogs The Sweetest Thing, Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge #96.  I always get great ideas for my cards here.  Take a look.. so simple but effective.

So with all this together I made the most simple and quick card.. which also ties into Fab N Funky Challenge #53 - Quick Easy Does It challenge.   It took no time at all.  Love it!!!!!
Love those kind of cards that it all goes together so easy.

Deck the Halls

Just got back from a day of shopping with my kids.  My daughter came in from Seattle yesterday and brought the crummy weather with her.  It has rained most of the day and is pretty darn cold for us here in Arizona.  I think it got to be around 46 deg.  So back to card making.  I decided to use inspiration from Moxie Fab World Tuesday Trigger Sweet Christmas Challenge.  I used this picture they posted as part of my inspiration on the coloring and the sparkle of my Christmas Balls.  It was also very close to Off The Wall Craftiness Challenge #37.  Look at these colors they are challenging us to use this week.
So with all this pink floating around I created my Deck the Halls card.

My card will work perfect for the Paper Romance Challenge #29 - The Backwards Color Challenge!  Don't use Red or Green.  I did not do that.  I hope with all this pink it still looks like a Christmas card.  The stamp is just the single ball which I stamped 3 xs and cut out.  The stamp is by Hero Arts called Flourish Ornament.  There is soooo much that can be done with just this one stamp.  I used my glue pen and traced around the swirls and then glittered them, added some star emblis and used the swirl paperclips to hang them.  I used pop dots to hold them in place and give them dimension.  At the bottom of the card that is a rub on that I found in my stash and The Little Red Wagon Challenge #59 asked us to use Rub Ons this week so it all worked out perfect.    Since the whole card is pinkish I think it fits in at the Caardvarks Final Challenge - monochromatic card and Incy Wincy Design Challenge #72 - Use non Traditional colors.

Well on to the next one.  Better go start the coffee cuz it's going to be a late nite.  hehehe.
