HAPPY BIRTHDAY RISSY RISSY ROSE!!!

Just a quick update :  NO PUPPIES YET - but the signs show that it might start tonight or tomorrow.  She is really nesting which started this morning.

Ok now on the the most important info:  My BABY GIRL TURNED 17 TODAY!!!!!
( Please no comments on how old I must be ....  lol  )
I can't believe it.  I remember the best years of her favorite things to do.. between the age of 2 to 4 you could not keep cloths on her.  The moment we walked in the door off came everything but her panties.. her favorite Little Mermaid.. hehehe.  The other thing this little girl use to do that drove us up the wall was she had to eat pizza all the time.  It was her favorite and she would throw tantrums if we didn't have it a couple of times a week.  She was about 2 1/2 -3, I would buy those microwave frozen single serves.  Then she would have to crawl on the coffee table and sit there like a little queen bee and smile at me like:  See mommy.. I won.  Now she is 17 and a fine young lady.  Skinny as a bone and some times a little to big for her britches but what teenager isn't.

To you Riss I want you to know how much I love you and feel like you are growing up way to fast.  I am afraid you'll be gone before I know it.

Ok on to why you are here.  I made her birthday card and wanted to share it with you and a few challenges.  You need to understand/know the love of her life is her dog, TYSON,  little Apple Head Chihuahua.  Well she bought him all by herself last year for her birthday, he was only 6 weeks old and you could hold him in one palm.
Here is Tyson.
Now look at the card I made her :
I searched high and low for a Chihuahua stamp and again I found the perfect one on my favorite site Addicted To Rubber Stamps .  DOESN'T IT LOOK JUST LIKE TYSON!  Blue and pink are her favorite colors, and the heart embelis are just a sign of my love to her.

Making a Pot of Goblin

Well when I saw the Sketch from Lord Have Mercy Tuesday sketch Challenge #92 I knew it would be perfect for another Halloween card.  Here is Mercy's sketch I followed.

I cut the goblin from Sizzix die cut, the "foam" of the pot are PTI dies of clouds.  I added glitter to them to make them stand out  more.  Delightful Sketches Challenges said - Make it Sparkle.  So I did.   The pot was a sticker that I stuck to black card stock and cut out, then used pop up glue dots.  I bought the skull and cross bones ric-rac.

Here on the inside I had the perfect stickers and then cut them from card stock.  I had from last year the ghost brads and added one on each side.  I never use to decorate the inside of cards but have really begun giving my cards that extra touch.  It really does finish it off completely.

p.s. I have no idea why this loads sideways???  It is not saved that way on my compiter but when it uploads it flips.  Sorry but I am sure you get the idea.

I hope everyone has a great weekend.

Special Gifts on the way.

I have something to share with you this morning.  Everyone at my house is eagerly anticipating a few special gifts soon.  Especially G-Ma (gramma).  Please meet Gypsy.
She was a stray from a place I worked and ran in the construction yard all the time.  I could not let such a sweet little dog be in such disparage and possibly get hit.   That is why I named her Gypsy.  She just was a wanderer.  She started out as my pup but since I was gone all day at work and Mom was home with her she took to her and now will not leave her side.  G-Ma loves her just as much.   Well you really can't see very well in this picture but what about this one.
She looks like a GIANT tick.  LOL.. I mean she has a great big body and this little head.  If we counted the days I think it is this weekend but G-Ma says it is around next Tuesday.  I am also guessing about 3 pups .. I hope for her sake no more than that.   Would you like to see Daddy?

So what do you think the combo is going to look like?

Another 1$ bin stamp

First let me tell you I am exhausted and my back feels like it is in a vise.  For some reason I got a hair up my you know what and decided to move a few things around my room.  After a whole evening of moving things around, dropping my old 1990 400lb tv and putting things over there and then deciding that nooo it looked better where it was and moving it back it finally all got done this morning.   I do have a lot more room and it did need  a major cleaning.

Well now on to my favorite subject - cards!   I really thought when I ran across Pals Paper Arts Challenge #61 Sketch that it was a great simple sketch to make for my new pumpkin stamp.

I already had the idea of masking and stamping the pumpkin a couple of times and for effect I popped one of them up.  I colored them with my Copics and added a little bling to the vines.  The border punch is Martha Stewart, I think we all have a few of her punches.  I do have to say she has done a great job on all her crafting supplies.  The colors were inspired by Moxie Fab World Tuesday Trigger Challenge - Not your square granny.  Such Autumn colors - well, that's what I've heard.. in AZ we really don't have Autumn or any change of season.  One day it just doesn't reach 100 degrees anymore.
Then we say "oh.. winter is coming"  LOL!
As for the colors A Crafty Little Place Challenge #57 also had the same colors to use Brown, Green, and Orange and the last challenge is Charisma Cardz Challenge #38 - Anything goes.

Now on to making more Halloween cards.. I have another great idea flowing can't wait to get started.

Birthday Invites

My daughter turns 17 next Tuesday and she wanted to have a little party over at the house so I jumped at the idea of making a few invites for her friends.  After the whole roll of the eyes she relented and said yes but she would have to approve.  No baby stuff!!!   I had recently gotten the SU set Sweet Scoops and have been dying to use them and always had the idea of glitter.  Her colors of her room and her favorite colors are pink and blue so I went that that theme.   I stamped the ice cream and cut it out, ran it though my Xyron stamp maker so it would be all sticky, then  dipped it in the glitter.  The cherry is just made with stickler ruby red and the little stem I cut from a piece of felt.  She totally approved.  Whew!!!!

Celebrate with a fuzzy friend.

How is all my fellow card making bloggers out there this beautiful day!  Just wanted to share a birthday card I made for a friends daughter.  The image is from a set I bought a while ago.  Actually I have so many stamps that I haven't even used.  Any-hooo  this is from Inky Antics Delightful Dogs #1.  I just thought he was so cute and I had to have his big floppy red tongue stick out.  The DP came from a DCWV mat stack called Flower Shower.  I think I might be back in the grove of things.  I have a few ideas forming in this empty marble container I call a head.  Come back to see what I come up with.

First Halloween card of the season

Good Monday morning all.  It has been a very tough time for me the last couple of weeks.  I again lost my job.  The company went bankrupt and was taken over by the trustee which in turn closed the company down.  So here I am again looking at a time that everyone else is and there are only a few to be found.  I'm not afraid to say I am beginning to be scared.  So needless to say I have been a little down and just not in the mood to make anything let alone a happy, sweet card.   I made myself make my first Halloween card.  It really isn't my best work at all but baby steps.. right!

I cut the card out of a Sizzix die cut, the paper is old stash but I did use my Spellbinders die to cut the scallop circle.  The image is really two stamps.  In the set there are three you will see the third in a moment.  So I stamped the creepy eyes and nasty fang mouth with Brilliance Rocket Red Pigment Ink.  I chalked all around it with Grey and cut around it then popped it up.
So for the inside I just cut more scallop circles and stamped the third stamp from the set BOOOO!  Lastly I took my Whit Gel Pen and drew stitching around the outside.

So I hope you like it and I am going to make myself make more today.
