Who doesn't love fairies?

I used The Sweet Stop SSS54 sketch for this card.
It just caught my eye for the perfect sketch for the fairy I colored.  I normally use pencil but I have to make myself use my Copic so that I can get better at blending with them.  I just am not good at it and I want to be!  Two of my favorite challenge sites Stamping 411Color Inspiration #120 & Stacey's Stampin Stage Curtain Call Color Challenge #27
had color challenges so close that I could incorporate them both -  Pinks, Greens, White and Cream.
Pile it on challenge #16 said "Make It Sweet", you can't get much sweeter than a cute little fairy, can you?  The ABC Design Blog had a recipe challenge -  1 - Punch, 2 - Stamps &
3 - Embellishments.  Everything came together.  I used my Mar-Fa (I love to call her that!) Stewart punch- Latice, glittered up her wings and shoes just like all fairies should have.

I hope everyone had a wonderful Monday.  I have a HUGE SURPRISE for everyone but not til next week.. *WINK* *WINK*  Lets just say I was surprised.

Flower Power

The other sketch that I couldn't wait to make was from CP #61.  I used Colour Create Challenge #43 - Burnt Orange, Black & Cream as my color inspiration.   Charisma Cardz Challenge #16 wanted us to use a quote on our card so that gave me the idea to put it in the middle of my flower.  Sew Many Challenges #12 this week let us do anything we wanted.  Those are the best challenges..  It's like a freebee!

I'll use this card for when I want to jot a quick note off to a friend to make sure they know how much they mean to me.

Sprinkled with Fun

Making cards last night and looking through my blog challenges for inspiration.  I really fell in love with two different sketches.  The first was from 2S4Y- Sketch #50
When I saw this a couple of days ago I knew exactly what I wanted to do.  First I wanted to turn the sketch, then the image of the 1/2 of the top note I knew I wanted to emboss it with my Cuttlebug "Happy Birthday" quotes. Then as I was reorganizing my stash and found things I didn't even know I had.  Some old ribbon and these little donuts.  I remember buying them for a scrapbook page I wanted to do.  There was one little one left.
It went perfect with the stamped sentiment.  "You deserve a day sprinkled with Fun!" The other great challenge I ran into was Craft Challenge - it was to use Pink & Brown.  Pink is one of my favorite colors.  I love how soft it is.  That's why I made the top note pink.  It really sticks out.  I think it's a great birthday card to keep on hand in a pinch.

Rest of the challenges:
A Spoon Full of Sugar #100 - Happy Birthday
Fab N Funky #20 - Get it all out
Fussy and Fancy #9 - Birthday wt a sweet treat
Hand Full of Stamps #25 - 2 diff DP
Raise the Bar #15 - Favorite Color

An official Graduation Card

As I had posted, my cousin graduated on Monday from High School and I sent him a silly card but he is 17 yrs old so I thought I would send him an official Graduation card.  I used Inkspirations Sketch Challenge #21
I did a little turn on it and changed it up a bit but I think I followed it pretty close.  The graduation hats DP and the charms I used are so old I can't believe I remembered I had them but isn't that why we scrappers and crafters never throw anything away!  Everytime I think I really just need to let go I don't and think .. *bubble over my head*  hmmm I'll use that one day.. then I put it back.  hehehe.
The sentiment is from a little .99 pack from Studio G.  Just think.. I have thousands of dollars worth of crafting supplies and look what can be created with .99 cents.  GOD I LOVE THIS HOBBY!
Any whooo on to my card.

Just one other little challenge to enter - Totally Gorjuss Challenge #26 - Charm

A card for someone special

I decided to make a card for my cousin Chase so I can let him know how proud I am of him for Graduating.  Friday while I was at the convention I bought this Whipper Snapper Design stamp - Sheepdog & Hydrant.
He is so cute I had to grab and buy.  He isn't the only one I bought but you'll have to come back to check out the others later.  So this morning I decided it would be perfect for Chase.  I used the Sugar Creek Hollow #16 Sketch as my layout.

I also used Diva Coffee Break Designs Color challenge as my inspiratiion with my layout.

The card worked for a few other challenges also:
Paper Sundays #14 - No People
Hand full of Stamps #24 - Your special
Charisma Cardz #15 - Monochromatic

CKC Convention & Challenge Card

What a weekend so far!.. WHEW  it is finally slowing down.  Friday I played hookie from work.. shushhhhh.. *finger to lips*.  My girlfriend and I went down to our town convention center, along with a couple thousand others and CKC was having their convention.  It was so much fun and I bought WAY, way to much.  I had gone to one about 2 to 3 years ago in down town Phoenix at the main convention center.  That was one was huge.  This one was just perfect.  So keep watch for some cute images coming your way.
Then I sprung for lunch and we went to Toby Keith's Bar & Grill.  Shan had a steak sandwish and some great onion rings and I had the most awesome pulled BBQ Pork nachos.  OMG!!!  I was in heaven.
Then today, this morning Mom left for Provo, UT.  Mom just turned 69 and this was her first plane ride alone.  She was a little apprehensive, ancy and very excited all in one.  So we dropped her off, she had her printed boarding pass and I gave her the instructions on what to do.  On the way home she called and said she was at the gate and waiting... YEPPEEEE! She made it that far.. I really think that part was going to be the hardest.  OHH Crap.. I forgot to tell you why.. My cousin has had a very rough road growing up.. not making the best decisions and had to go to a boys school out in UT, he lives in Redmonds, CA.  After bucking, biting, and running away a few times.. something clicked and what should be happening next year (because of how much time he lost)  is happening Monday. That's how much he buckled down and set his goal.   HE IS GRADUATING!  Way to go Chase.  Mom being there is a giant surprise.. he does not know she is coming.  Mom, through good times and bad never judged him just wrote letters to him and told him how much she loves him.  She is such a saint.

Ok if your still with me I came home and made my first card over this whole weekend.  The image I won from some blog candy and I am sorry I can not tell you from who.. I probably could go through some old post but I'm not going to.  Just know I do appreciate any challenge I might win or any candy I might be honored to get.  I blinged her out, but glitter on her wings and dress. What a cute fairy... she reminds me of the Wizard of Oz.. Gilda the good witch.  One of my favorite movies.

8 Challenge card.

I wish you could really see this card.  The pictures do not do it justice.  It is one of my "good" cards.  I'm pretty hard on my self but I really like this one.  I hope you can see how this card really is folded.  Don't you just love those bright circle paper.  It came from a DCWV pack called Nana's Kids.  The papers are so cute and these circles are embossed out so when you feel it, it isn't completely smooth. It has a bit of a bump.  I used my Nestie Inverted Scalloped Circle.  Cut two of them and then off set them.

Isn't he the cutes digi image?  I fell in love with him as soon as I saw him.  He was a freebie from Sliekje.  If you looking for some cute freebies stop by her blog.  I used Marfa's border punch at the opening and added my favorite embellis.. I toss between pearls or bling.  Either one always puts the perfect touch on any card.  Don'tcha think?

Charima Cardz #14 - Thank you

Another Get Well Card

On my Friday shopping trip as I told you I bought a couple Get Well stamps.  As soon as I saw this one I grabbed it and the wheels started spinning.  I couldn't wait to get started on this one.  So many possibilities.

The
I punched the flowers out with my EK Success Small Flower Punch.  You can see the Copics I used to color in the words.  I used pearls and bling and the heart is colored in with Stickles - xmas Red.  I used my Sizzix buttons die to cut out the button circles added spare buttons I had.

As I was finishing this up I thought that maybe it was a little girlish for my friends brother but as I look at it, it makes me smile and that's all I want to do for him.   Make him smile... so if the card makes him smile or the thought that "hey this is a little girly card" makes him chuckle inside then my job is done.

Share a Easter Payer

Friday I bought a couple of Get Well stamps. Just didn't have any and unfortunately  I need to make a few cards.  It's never a good thing to make Get Well cards.. I want everyone I know well and happy.  The main reason for the Get Well stamps is due to a very good friend's brother is very ill right now.  I mean VERY ill.  If you have just one extra prayer this Easter can you please put a good word in with the big guy.  He has only one last procedure to try and if this doesn't work then things are not good at all, they say there is nothing else after that.   So just a little whisper in the big guys ears from enough of us maybe could make something good happen.

This is one of the Get Well stamps I bought on Friday by Whipper Snapper - Get Well Chicken.  I put little blue pearls on his bedspread.  Colored him with my Prismas.  I added a little design to his bed so it looked like wood.  WHAT ABOUT THAT PAPER!  Isn't is soo cute and so perfect.  I had bought the stamp first and later that day I went to a scrapbook store that was closing. I saw this and BINGO it was perfect.  The DP is by Reminisce. - Animal House.  They have the greatest paper.  Go take a look.. so cute.  The EGG is from PaperTrey die and then I just embossed it with my cuttle bug folder.  The card is Kraft, the red is Bazzill.  That blue string was wrapped on one of my Birthday Presents, as a crafter I keep everything so it came in perfect.   The rest is just extra stuff lying around.

Challenges:
Charisma Cardz - Animal Farm
Crazy 4 Challenges - Kraft CS
Crafty HO - Recycle
Everything but the Kitchen Sink - String
Little Red Wagon - Spring
Sweet Stampin Challenge - Man's World
Crafty Calendar - Aprils Fool
The Sweet Stop - Sketch

Happy Easter to all!

What a week!  The main book keeper at work is on vacation and this week I thought my head was going to pop!  Now I know what she feels everyday.  I will make sure to help her even more when she comes back.. She left on Monday and by Tuesday at about 9 AM I was wishing her vacation was over and she was back.. lol  So come Friday our office closed down early and I was ready to do some retail therapy.

I spent way, way, way to much, but wait til you hear about what I got.  First I stopped at a really great stamp store - Stamp Works  If you're local here in Phx, Mesa, Tempe I know you are aware of this store.. We just don't have enough stamps stores here in our towns. I bought two stamp sets by Inky Antics.  I just love this company, as you know I love to color and they have great stamps that allow me to do that.  I got the sets Delightful Dogs #1 & #2.  The ideas I have in my head are going to make my brain pop but I don't mind this kind of pop!  I also bought two Get Well stamps.  They are unfortunately needed at this time.

Then I ran  (ok I drove).. hahah.. I crack my self up...  to Hobby Lobby and got a new Mar-FA Stewart boarder punch - Arch Lattice & the singe butterfly punch.  The other item I bought was a Nestabilities  Inverted Scalloped Circles.  I took my mom and daughter so we all had 40% off coupons - what a deal I got there.

Then on my way home from there I called my girlfriend, we were going to meet up for a little munchies and a drink.  She is the one with the 5 boys and I could tell it was time to get her out and relax.  She does so much for me that I wanted to take her away from her craziness. She told me that before we went out we had to meet up with our other two friends.  A scrapbook store in our area was going out of business and we had to get there. .. ahhhh YEA!   I got the greatest paper and the large oval, scallop punch I have been wanting.  I finally found and bought Tim Hotz - Tonic Studio Paper Distressor wheel & Non-Stick Micro Serrated Scissors, some other odds and ends.. Now here is the best part.  Everything was 50% off!  YES  I said 50% off.. Thanks Tracy for the negotiations that where done before we arrived.  Then when we got home my new PaperTrey flower Dies were waiting for me. What a bonus for the day.  They are soooo great & cut soooo fantastic.  I bought felt so I can see what happens in cutting and trying to make some felt flowers.. We'll see?????

Well there is nothing left to do but try out everything and get to stampin.

Big Mamma's gotta get busy.  Stand by to check out the new stuff being used.
