I hope everyone has the most wonderful 4th of July ever. Just remember what it took and is taking to keep us THE LAND OF THE FREE!
I am very proud of this card. It came into my head as soon as I found this stamp in the clearance bin at Mikes. The stamp is by Stampendous called Star Sparklers. I stamped it on the red plain paper and then stamped it again on some DP paper. Embossed the star images and cut out the stars. Once cut out I popped them up on their sister image. I will tell you a secret. You see where the blue with the red star is. Well under that was not a star as part of the stamped image it is something like a sparkler design. What I did was try to use glitter glue to outline it and put some glittery flash on my card. Holly Crap, I messed it up bad! I obviously have not mastered or even come close to the art of glitter. It was horrible. I wanted to cry. It was like the last thing I was doing on the card. It was all put together and pretty much done. I couldn't start over. I started thinking... think Mary... think. What can I do. DING... DING.....DING.. I remembered I have some foam stars. So I saved my card. I know as bloggers we look at other cards and go "WOW HOW AWESOME!" but as the maker we are going "WHEW, IF ONLY THEY KNEW HOW BAD I MESSED THAT UP" Hahaha.. so now you know my secret of how bad this card really was at one point.
I think this is one of the few times that I created a card with my own design idea. Not using anyone's sketch. Sometimes I surprise myself.
