Life's update

I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter or Passover celebration. Ours was really nice and laid back.  Of course I had to make a Easter banner for the occasion.  I found cardboard bunny cutouts at Michaels.   Almost all my banners are made from these cutouts.  For every season or holiday they have cut out that match or relate so they work so perfect for banners. They really are originally made for creating mini albums but that's what crafting is all about.  Finding things that might not be made for what you want to use them for.

Don't you just love all those poka dots!

The bunny's tail was a big thought process.  I was going to use a big white fuzzy ball but I couldn't find one big enough.  I didn't want to use cotton ball plus I didn't have any big enough. While I was looking around Michaels I did see hair clips that were felt flowers.
Ding!. Ding!. Ding!!!
That was it.. I came home and tried it out.  I think it worked out great and looks so cute.

I've been working on frames for my Etsy shop and hope to be back very very soon to show off the newest frames that are available.

Neon Birthday card.

Well the last of the birthday cards for January are done.
I love U Birthday II
This card isn't my normal style but after it is all done and said I really love it.  It took me all of maybe 30 mins to do.

Here are some dets. about this card.
Background paper is from a great collection by American Crafts,  Amy Tangerine, Sketch Book.  I know it's an older collection but I never am lucky enough to have the newest and it all still looks beautiful to me.
My banner is from a die I hadn't used until now.  It's from Simon Says.  Just so you know if your interested in their dies and have not seen them first hand they are great!  This die is longer than what you see.  I cut it down. oh not the die the paper.  It has 8 banners across.   They cut so well and I use my big shot.
Hey, hello, knock knock - any body from Paper Smooches reading this????   Did you recognize your stamps on here?  ha ha  The "I" and the "U" are from your Good Gab set.  Here, I will show you.
 I love U Birthday
The I is from the stamp (I Apologize)  and the U is from the stamp What's Up.
Now for the best part.  I went to my washi supply and didn't have any in neon.  What's the next best thing?  Post it notes.  Cut, stamped and done.. my sentiment.
Since I love this card so much I want to share it with some challenges:
Allsorts Challenge blog Week 188  - CAS (clean and simple)
More Than Favors Wacky Wednesday #79 Banner
Retro Sketches #45
Stampin for the weekend Anything goes

Inkspirational -
Inkspirational is brand new challenge blog and looks like I'm going to have a blast there this year.  Can't wait.
Now to give back to my bestie who is always there for me.  She is redoing all the bed rooms in her home so I'm headed over there now to start the painting process.

Thankful Banner

Is everyone’s turkey in the countdown phase of defrosting, stuffing and ready to turn the heat up on it?
Today I wanted to share a banner I made to display for our Thanksgiving meal.

The banner base is hard chipboard that I bought from Hobby Lobby.  A blank slate.  I picked some great paper at my local scrapbook store by My Mind's Eye - On The Bright Side Collection – Orange Barn.

I Mod Podge’d the base of the  unfinished chipboard with the “barn paper”.   While I was looking for the perfect base paper I ran into a sheet of these adorable “bingo” fall cards.  They are by:  Simple Stories - Harvest Lane Collection    I fell in love with them and had to find a way to use them.  Each banner got their own different bingo card.  Cut my rosette and then glued a letter on each one to spell THANKFUL.  After it was done it was just a little to plain so I made my own leaves with a punch, crinkling them up and then distressing them a little.

Lastly I had a roll of old hemp twine that I thought would be perfect to string the banner with.  I think it turned out fabulous!  Each banner I make is getting better and better… Can’t wait to start my Christmas one.
I’m going to enter my Fall Thankful banner in the Ribbon Carousel Blog’s Monthly challenge  RCC74.
